Mystery Box

This is a fun box/activity/game/family home evening lesson all in one.

I made this box for a Sharing Time in Primary about the Holy Ghost.

You put an item under the box and let kids put their hands in the holes and feel the item.

THEN they try to explain what they feel- without saying the actual item.

"It's soft, fuzzy, stretchy" but they can't say "sock'.

For younger kids- we set the box like this- and let all the kids see what the person was touching.

It's just fun to do. Kids like sticking their hands into the "unknown".

The point of the lesson is to help them learn about the Holy Ghost and recognize it. "Sometimes it's hard to explain what the Holy Ghost feels like. "

And then reference the scripture in Galatians 5:22 " But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith".

Just wanted to share another Family Home Evening family favorite.

I first saw this idea- at a group Family Home evening lesson on my mission. It was a great object- lesson.
